Drawing: Week 9

25th September, 2019: Jai Sir

Mapping the colours before sketching the actual picture is very important. It helps us to understand the exact colour that has to be filled for a certain picture and the correct place to fill it.

We had to make a grid on the picture which includes boxes of either 1cm X 1cm or 2cm X 2cm. By using these boxes as guidelines, we had to fill colour in them as per the picture. If there were two colours in one box, it had to be separated in a linear form.

This technique of mapping not only helps in understanding the colour placement but also helps in getting the right colours by mixing them in correct proportions.

This is the picture chosen by me for mapping.

This grid is made by me using water colours. Every box contains a linear separation between two different colours.
