A timeline on evolution of an aspect from the civilizations had to be made. This aspect could be anything like a tool, clothing, daily object and so on. We had to look at the way that particular aspect had evolved over the years in terms of design, uses, application etc.
The aspect chosen by me is WEAPONS. There is a huge variety of weapons that has been used by the people of different civilizations. These weapons could be completely new or also an imitation of the existing design. There could also be very minute changes in these aspects that would have taken place. It was important to understand all these changes or modifications that might have happened and then combine them together as a timeline.
One of the objects that I previously created a timeline for is a weapon from the Egyptian Civilization, called Khopesh. It was a sickle sword which was used by the Greeks first and later it spread to some other states.
The research created by me included some of the details such as the origin, place, time, use, design and so on. I also tried to include a sketch to show the change in the design of the sword to another one which was called Khukri. The following is the research:
Later in class, we also made a list of different weapons which were used in the different civilizations.
This helped us in visualizing a timeline and the arrangement of all these on it. Showing their evolution could also show how the civilizations developed.
