The class started with the discussion of how the first semester had been helpful and what were our insights on it. It helped us in putting forward our individual experiences and gains from it and at the same time, our expectations from the new term. It made us realize how it was important to question each step and try to understand the reasoning for the same.
In the next part of the lecture, we were given the word, ‘Despicable’, and we had to find out the most appropriate synonyms for it. These had to be closest to the meaning of the word. After this, the word ‘Despicable’ had to be used in two sentences. And later, it had to be replaced with its closest synonym in these sentences itself. This was really helpful in understanding the placement of words and the different uses of it. Also, it was very beneficial for developing our vocabulary.
These were the two sentences and the replacements used by me:

Thereafter, we were given some words out of which we had to choose one and find its synonyms. And later on, we had to act these words out as a group. It had to be a mime which made it a task since it had to be very apt for the correct depiction of the word. It was a good way to learn new words and understand their meanings at the same time. It also gave a fun twist to it which developed our interest furthermore.
