In this lecture we had to start working on the macro level study report for our respective topics. This report had some steps which had to be followed in order to arrive at the conclusion for the same.
The first step for this would be the aim which includes the intent of the topic. Then we had to focus on the issues which would include the existing problems of the people. It was important to depict the issues in such a way that it was easily understandable. Visuals would be the best way to do it. The next part was to list down the impacts which would be the effects of this through the three ‘Ps’ of People, Planet and Profit. The comes the area of focus. This included the spaces which we wanted to study where our research would be most beneficial.
Case Studies would help us in getting more information about our topics. It would have the detailed study of our topics which would definitely help us in understanding it in depth. The last part was to recommend a few ways in which the problems could be solved. These recommendations could bring about awareness among the people and help them to know more about the topic.
In this class, we started to research about some of the policies and missions initiated by the Government based on our topic, Clean and Affordable Energy. Some of the policies such as National Tariff Policy: To promote the generation of electricity form renewable energy. Missions such as National Solar mission: To promote use of solar energy for generating power and other uses, and National Action plan which encompasses a range of missions for the use of renewable energy.
An overview of the National Tariff Policy:

We also researched about the Pros of using of solar energy in a country like India. One of the reasons being that India has the highest potential for solar energy than other sources of renewable energy and it produces three times more solar energy. This is because India is situated in such a geographical location that it receives a lot of sunlight which makes it an ideal condition for the installation of solar panels. Therefore, solar energy has very chances of running in this country.
This research gave us a better understanding of the topic and helped us in developing it further.
