Mind maps help us in organizing the information in a much better way and understanding the source of a certain aspect. The mind maps made by us in the previous class were based on our preferences for next year. The three mind maps made by me were based on Fashion Communication & Styling, Communication Design and Fashion Design.
This lecture was all about analyzing these mind maps, including the one others had made. This process included the arrangement of all the mind maps of the same course together and then listing down the common and uncommon elements in all of them.
Fashion Communication and Styling being my first preference, I started with it. After going through all the mind maps, I found some of these elements among them and segregated them as common and uncommon.

Following this process, helped us in understanding the course in a much detailed manner and also made us go through all the different categories that belong to it. I could also point out the categories which were not mentioned in my mind map and labelled them ‘Uncommon’. This led to a vast analysis of the course and helped us to capture the repetitive elements as well.
As we dive deeper into the study of categories under each course, it was also essential to get a better understanding of the elements which contributed to the category and how they came together as one. Also, if there were similar elements, how they could be linked together or differentiated from each other. A mind map of the category helped us to go about this process.
The mind map made by me was based on Editorial Design, which is a category under Fashion Communication. The mind map explains how Editorial Design is linked to visual communication as both of them have a lot of graphic elements involved in terms of typography, illustrations and even imagery. This is how I tried to depict it:

And lastly, this are my views on Fashion Communication & Styling as an aspect of Design:
