Objects as History: Week 6

The aspects chosen by us had to be combined together on a timeline. This timeline had to specify the details of the different objects under that aspect and how it differed every time.

The aspect chosen by me is ‘Weapons’.

Under this aspect, I tried looking for different swords, spears and various other weapons used by people from different civilizations. What made each of them different is their shape, utilization and the techniques of their usage. Arranging them on the timeline would give a better definition to each of them and give a better idea of how all of them functioned and why they were designed in such a way.

The aspect chosen by us had to be more specific. ‘Weapons’ being a very vast term had to be narrowed down to swords, spears, shields and so on. This would give the timeline a more definite structure and help us in doing a more vivid research on the term.

Some of the research done by me included the following:

This lecture gave us a better insight of how the timeline had to be created and how the different objects would come together on it. It also gave us a clear idea of how to go about it.
