Integrative Seminar Sem 2: Week 7

28th Feb, 2020: Meenal Sutaria

The narratives written by us were reviewed in this lecture. The review helped us in understanding the possible improvements in our stories and how they could be made better.

The feedback helped me in shaping my narratives in a better way. I placed the various elements of the stories in a way that they linked to each other and one could understand the flow. It was also essential to show how the city affected the people living there and the visitors as well. This is something which I tried to show through the quality of the people which reflected the city in a way. I made sure that all my stories were different from each other and highlighted their own special aspects.

Since these were imaginary cities made up by us, it was important to choose elements and represent them in a way that one could visualize it even if it was something which doesn’t exist. It was vital that the person understood how the story advances and what is it trying to say. It is also possible that in some cases the interpretation of these stories is completely on the reader and how he wants to imagine it.

It was necessary to add certain aspects which would make each city stand out and give a gist of it without having to explain much. I tried to use this quality as the title of my stories, such as: The Unbounded City, The City of Faith, The City of Tales, The City of Quests, The City of Fantasies and The Quaint City. Each of these words gave a considerable description to the stories and at the same time, one would know what kind of a city they were reading about.
