Time : Week 14

7th April. 2020: Elizabeth Mathew

Improvising my existing poster helped me in creating a better collation of the aspects from the movie and at the same time focusing on the artwork. For creating a better effect, I modified the background of the poster to black and white. This enhanced the poster in a way that the viewer focused on the art but the same time could see a relationship between the art and the movies it was representing.

This was the final poster created by me:

The next part was to come up with a final poster or a booklet which would combine all our artworks. We decided to work on a foldout which would open out on four sides and have an ‘ artist statement’ in the centre. The foldout helped us in including the posters and infographics in an interesting and interactive manner.

The person opening the foldout would have to open it on four sides and the last slide would be the ‘Curational Rationale’. The reason why we decided to include the rationale in the centre is because the person could first read out the reasoning behind the artworks and then go about seeing them. This would give the viewer a better perspective and understanding of the foldout.

This was the structure of the foldout:

To make it more understandable, we realized that an animation or a GIF would be a good option. It would give the person an overview of our idea and therefore understand the purpose behind it.

We also decided to add the dialogues of the movie behind each artwork, depending on the one watched by us and the one on which the poster focused on. We also added a short description of the artwork which would explain the poster to the viewer.
