There are many ways of depicting a movie. Some of them could be an artwork, an installation, a collage or an infographic. The purpose of all of them would be to bring out the main idea of the movie and sort of summarize it in the best way possible. These illustrations made by us had to be a combination of all the five movies which were allotted to our group.
The five movies which we watched as a group had many common themes which brought them all together. Themes such as corruption, greed, humour, strong women characters and poverty. They were represented in these movies in one way or the other. We had to now create something which either depicted one of the themes of a combination of few.
I chose to depict these movies through an artwork. I had two basic ideas in my mind. The first one was an illustration depicting ‘Corruption’. This showed a man taking money from the poor common people form one had and passing on the same when he gets caught for it. The thought behind this mainly depicted the idea of corruption and how it affected the system as a whole. I tried to keep the illustration really simple by making it minimal by involving less colours and emphasizing on the important details.
This was a rough sketch of my illustration:

The second illustration made by me was based on ‘Greed’ as it was another important theme from our movies. I tried to show the depiction through a person’s head which consists of all the thoughts about greed in the form of wealth, power, luxury and so on. I tried to show this idea in the form of a retro art with a lot of colours and a pop effect to it. This would highlight the purpose of the illustration and convey the message effectively.
This is a rough sketch of the illustration:

After a short discussion on these, I realised that the movie element had to be added to these which would establish a direct connection with them. So I decided to portray the characters from the movies through the human figure which would be a combination of all. This would make it more relevant and clear.
The discussion helped me in improving my illustrations and understanding the movies in a deeper way by representing them through minimal aspects but through a strong depiction.
