WEEK 1: 29th July, 2019 : Malvika Ma’am
What could be the simplest form that could be drawn using ‘lines’ and ‘dots’? It’s said by Christoph Neimann, “Drawings can not only communicate but also evoke emotions.”So it’s important to understand the most basic structure that could represent the object. The topics given to us included: My Happy Place, Thoughts when we look out of the window, One word description for a friend, Highlights of journey to school and State of mind in the morning. The process of making these thirty illustrations was not only fun but also included a vast learning process and a great deal of observation.

WEEK 2: 10th Aug, 2019 : Malvika Ma’am
Illustrations are simple representations of things. An illustration can be formed by using the simplest of elements like ‘dots’ and ‘lines’.
In this lecture, we used the printing sheets to create a 3-D model of our illustrations from last week. There were restrictions in the making process, but by using the tools and the paper wisely, those illustrations can be represented in an appealing way.
WEEK 3: 12th Aug, 2019: Malvika Ma’am
What could be the best metaphor to describe oneself?
This class was all about coming up with around 10 to 20 metaphors for ourselves. The process of doing it included a lot of thinking. The best way to do it was to think about our traits or qualities and then pick anything that relates the most to it.
After coming up with these metaphors, our task was to convert them into 2-D compositions by using only ‘dots’ and ‘lines’. The challenge was to make ten sketches in about thirty minutes.
Illustrations of my metaphors
WEEK 4:19th Aug,2019: Malvika Ma’am
In this lecture, we had to convert our 2-D metaphor illustrations into 3-D forms, by using brown file card.
Brown file card is a stronger material as compared to printing paper. So while making the models we had more advantage in using the material as compared to paper, which is delicate. We could also make use of the texture on the file card to give an effect wherever needed. We could actually make accurate models with it.

REPRESENTATION OF METAPHORS
WEEK 5: 26th Aug,2019: Malvika Ma’am
The 3-D illustrations of metaphors brought more shape to the drawings. File card as a medium is very sturdy and gives a good finish to the models. Since it is a stronger medium as compared to paper, the models can also be made vertically and can be given a better effect. Texture also gives a good look to the model.
